March Meeting
Doors open at 6:15, Bee Package raffle – We are raffling off 2 packages this year. Prices are $3.00 per ticket or 7 tickets for $20.00. You could win a package of bees and you will help support your local beekeepers association.

Matt Schmitz will be doing his fryer to beeswax melter conversions starting at 6:15 in the back corner of the meeting room. Bring your fryer and parts to the meeting.

Speakers:
Chris Saad will speak about Bee packages and Spring chores in the apiary
Tom Debates will speak about how you don’t need a lot of money to keep bees.

8th Annual Bee Forum

Sunday March 26, 10;00am -4pm

 Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance hosts an annual Bee Forum to join local beekeepers and beekeeping experts to discuss relevant topics in the world of beekeeping, in addition to building community with Chicagoland beekeepers. This year’s theme is “The art of beekeeping, the science of bees”. We have three experts lined up who will present on various aspects around the central theme. To help build community and keep the conversation going, we have a shared potluck lunch.  Click here for speakers, more information and tickets.


St. Charles City Council Ordinance
The St Charles City Council is expected to review the proposed beekeeping ordinance on Monday, April 10 at 7 pm at the City Municipal Building, 2 E Main St. This is a public meeting and those who are interested are welcome to attend.

Bee Packages
Chris Saad is taking orders for bee packages to be picked up in April. $112 for 2lb with Queen and $128 for 3lb with Queen. Full payment is required with your order, payable by check to Honey Trails. Click here for an order form
